Duration : Half Day: 08.30-12.00, 13.30-17.00
Program &
Itinerary :
The idea of this trip is to visit Chiang
Mai most sacred temple, Wat Phrathat Doi
Suthep. This temple was built in 1383.
It is located 15 kms from the city and
3,500 feet above sea level, at this level
there is an excellent panoramic view over
Chiang Mai city and Ping valley. The temple
is approached on foot by climbing a steep
stairway comprising 290 steps called "Naga
Stairway". The less energetic may
ascend by a cable-car instead of the stairway.
The temple's gold plated chedi which lies
in the middle of marble courtyard contains
a piece of holy relics of Lord Buddha.
This temple and its golden chedi attract
Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world
throughout a year.
After worship at Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep,
we continue the trip by a truck passing
several rain-forest mountains along bumpy
road to visit a Hmong (Meo) hill tribe
village. On the way, enjoy the beautiful
scenery along road sides. Arrive the village
and observe the simple life and unique
customs, also, chitchat with the hill
tribe people and obtain the opportunity
to take photos with them.
